During the meeting, reports were heard by the heads of the committees of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the implementation of the recommendations of the Standing Committees of the Council and public hearings on various areas of activity of the bodies of internal affairs. Secretary of the Public Council Serik Suinbaev told about the work of the Public Council: "In 2017, the Public Council received 39 appeals of citizens, including two facts about the violations of police officers. The remaining 37 appeals were in respect of investigative actions, on which instructions were given to competent services. Also last year, 176 normative legal acts developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs concerning the rights, freedoms and duties of citizens were considered and discussed. Four meetings were held, which examined the most pressing issues of activity, and heard the Minister's report on the criminal situation in the country and the results of the work of the internal affairs bodies. Three public hearings were held in video conference mode with the participation of OSCE representatives, diplomatic missions, international organizations, the Commission on Human Rights, state agencies and the media on the prevention of drug abuse, as well as interaction with civil society. " It was noted that within the framework of public control, members of the Council (Kogamov M.Ch., Rakhimberdin K.Kh., Turmagambetova Zh.U., Shambilov AS) conducted 15 public monitoring, where they got acquainted with the activities of 8 territorial divisions, brought information on the current activities of the Council, changes and additions to the legislation. The Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee, Igor Lepeha, spoke about the implementation of the Public Council's recommendation to improve the local police service, including increasing the police's accountability to civil society, introducing new forms of police work based on interaction with civil society, improving the effectiveness of the local police service, "Safe yard" for installing video surveillance systems, strengthening the channels of trust to it from the local population, with The social security of police officers, namely the provision of housing and other problematic issues. Also at the meeting was discussed the work of consultative and advisory bodies in the territorial bodies of internal affairs.
